Family and friends of Michael Owens gathered on Haining Road to pay tribute to his life cut short.
Michael, 28, was killed in a two-vehicle collision last Tuesday morning as he left work. He left behind son Kory, daughter Ryleigh and his loving fiance Stephanie Roach.
A group of about 25 family members and co-workers came together this evening at the site of the crash to install a cross. The Cross was made and erected by Mike’s coworkers and friends Mike Carpenter, Brian Luke, and Cody Rogers along with Josh Peterson. The cost and supplies to make the cross were donated by Cody Rogers, Bill and Julie Baxley, Chelsea and Josh Poole, Brian, Glenda and Katland Luke, and Summer Hudson.
Memorial Cross on Haining Road for Michael Owens. The small handprints are from his children.
The blue and green cross has Michaels name and the handprints of his two children. They will mark this point in time for the young father and will serve as a reminder to the hundreds of workers on Haining Road what is most important.
