A $100 reward is being offered to locate a missing beagle with an injured back leg.

Kacie Lindsey is the supervisor of the Vicksburg Animal Shelter but spent her Fourth of July assisting another county that has no shelter or animal control. During that time, she and volunteer Tracy Chaney took in a beagle with a leg injury around noon that day.

Not many details can be released on the case at this time, but the beagle, who has been named Nadine, was taken in as part of an animal cruelty case involving 24 animals. 11 of the 24 were taken in and Lindsey plans to retrieve the remaining 13 on July 6.

Special care is always taken regarding the animals that Lindsey and her volunteers rescue. However, Nadine slipped out the door and escaped her caregivers. She has been missing for more than 24 hours. According to a Facebook post made by Lindsey, she got out in the Wildwood subdivision in Vicksburg. She could be located near Alcorn Drive, Elizabeth Circle, Clay Street or Mission 66. It is also possible that she could be located in the Military Park.

Nadine does not know her name and could be difficult to catch. She has been described as being very timid.

Anyone who sees her is urged to contact Lindsey at 601-218-5706 immediately. Nadine has an injury on her back leg that she can’t put weight on, so special care is advised. She needs vet care as soon as possible, so finding her quickly is imperative.

Lindsey is personally offering a reward of  $100 dollars to locate her.
