11-year-old suffers fatal gunshot wound

Vicksburg police officers responded just before 8 p.m. to a residence on Elizabeth Circle in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival at the scene, an 11-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to the chest inside the residence.

Details are not plentiful at this time, however it appears the shooting may have been accidental.

The boy was later pronounced dead at the scene.
