15-year-old suspect in custody for shooting of Ethan Powell

Kemond Urell Jones, 15, of Vicksburg, has been taken into custody and charged with the murder of 18-year-old Ethan Powell.
Powell suffered multiple gunshot wounds in an altercation at the 100 block of Abraham Drive just after midnight Monday morning. Under Mississippi law, Jones, who surrendered to authorities Monday, will be tried as an adult.
Jones will go before the Justice Court Judge tomorrow for arraignment, at which time bond will be decided.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said that while the investigation is still ongoing, authorities are confident that Jones is responsible for the death of Ethan Powell.
