17 hits by the Lady Flashes leads to a 9-5 win over Jackson Academy on Thursday


St. Aloysius racked up 17 hits to take down Jackson Academy 9-5 on Thursday.
The Lady Flashes came out with Megan Theriot and Kyleigh Coper getting hits followed by Maddy McSherry and Abby Mikulski picking up RBIs to go up 2-0.
JA responded by getting three runs to take the 3-2 lead by the end of the first inning.
Neither team would get a run score in the second but Mikulski would brighten things up with a triple to tie the game at three. Ali G. Luke and Presley Brister would help the Lady Flashes go up 5-3 with some good hitting.
St. Al only allowed one run in the third and maintained a 5-4 lead.
By the top of the sixth inning, the game was tied at five and the Lady Flashes came out swinging, beginning with Lili Perniciaro who got a RBI. McSherry followed with another RBI then Luke got a hit that brought in the final two runs with a 9-5 final.
Cooper struck out seven batters on the night.
Mikulski and Luke went 3 for 4 in the win. Cooper, Theriot, McSherry, and Macy Stauble each had two hits while Brister, Perniciaro, and Ruthie Britton each had one hit.
Luke led with three RBIs followed by McSherry and Mikulski who each had two.
The Lady Flashes now have a 6-7 record.
