18-wheeler accident continues to impact traffic on I-20

As of noon Thursday, work is ongoing to off-load two UPS trailers that over turned near Flowers this morning on Interstate 20 westbound.

The trailers are being unloaded by hand, so the process will take several hours. Currently traffic is backed up approximately a mile east of Edwards. Law enforcement is present in the area, and only light vehicle traffic is being allowed to detour onto Highway 80.

Please use caution and exercise patience in the area. Traffic is flowing slowly near the accident.
