2023 state candidate qualifying list

This list reflects the names of those candidates who have submitted qualifying papers to the Office of the Secretary of State and to State Party Executive Committee listed below.

Pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. Section 23-15-299, independent candidates for statewide and state district officer file their qualifying papers and fee with the Mississippi Secretary of State’s
Office. The State Board of Election Commissioners determines whether each statewide or state district candidate who has qualified as an independent candidate meets the qualifications
for the office sought prior to his or her name being placed on the General or Special Election Ballot. Political party candidates for statewide or state district file qualifying papers with their
respective state party executive committee. State party executive committees are not required to provide the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office with information on candidates who
have submitted paperwork until February 1st at 6:00 p.m. but the below political parties have provided lists in advance of the required date.

All candidates for county and county district office file qualifying papers with their respective Circuit Clerk’s Office. All candidates for municipal and municipal ward office file qualifying
papers with their respective Municipal Clerk’s Office. This list is updated as of February 1, 2023 at 9:10 pm.
