24 Gators made the All-District Team

As the Vicksburg High School football team is preparing for their playoff game on Friday, 24 Gators have been named to the All-District 5A Region 2 Team.

Players who made the First Team are Travis Stewart, Derah Minor, DeCorey Knight Jr, Johnny Smith, Tyler Henderson, Ronnie Alexander, JD Kelly, Wallyeke Curry and Kearris Gilliam.

Second Team All-District players are Jaleel Fleming, Kellen Washington, Korzabian Hill, KeDarius Sims, Willie Edmond, Mikell Jones, Kegan Ware, Dennis Battle, Rick Ross, Alex Jefferson and Tyler Carter.

Demarcus Johnson was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the district and Malik Montgomery was named the Offensive Player of the Year.

The Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year was awarded to Caleb Bryant and Nick Mickey as named Defensive Back of the Year.

Honorable Mention players are Roshawn Carter, Colin Johnson, and Kevis Hall.

The Gators are led by Head Coach Todd McDaniel as VHS sits with a 9-2 record along with a 2022 District Title.

VHS will host Callaway on Friday.
