3 shot, 1 juvenile dead in city shooting

3 people have been shot and 1 juvenile is dead after a burst of gunfire at Speed and Washington.

At around 11:50 p.m. a call was dispatched to the area of Speed and Washington Streets where about 15 shots were reported. The shots, according to radio traffic, came from a car that sped away from the scene.

Officers responded to the location but didn’t find any shell casings.

At about 11:55 p.m., medics were dispatched to the McDonalds on Clay and Mission 66 where a 13-year-old male was not breathing. Dispatchers also reported they were instructing the caller on CPR and that CPR was started on the 13-year-old. The first officer to arrive at the Mcdonald’s reported the 13-year-old had a gunshot wound to the chest and that they had been driven there by a relative.

Almost immediately thereafter a call came in that a 15-year-old in the area of Speed and Marshall was suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.

Patrol units on Urban Court

Another call moments later reported another victim in the area of Urban Court with a gunshot wound to the shoulder area.

At 1:15 a.m. another shots fired call was dispatched to the area of South and 2nd North. The unit responding to that area reported a home in the 1400 block of South Street had been shot up. It is not known if that shooting was related to the Speed and Washington Street shooting.
