Two injured in three-vehicle crash transported for treatment

The Vicksburg Police Department announced that Wednesday’s three-vehicle collision at Highway 61 South and Iowa Blvd led to two being transported for treatment.

At 12:30 p.m., a three-vehicle collision was reported on 61 South at Iowa Boulevard. Initial reports stated there was entrapment involved and injuries were involved.

One driver was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. Another driver was transported to Merit Health River Region by ambulance.

Further information concerning the current condition of those involved is unknown at this time.

Initial radio traffic indicates there are serious injuries and people are trapped in the vehicle. Aircare was put on standby.
