Officers with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and other area law enforcement are searching for Harold Lindsey, 63, missing since Thursday.

Lindsey was last seen Thursday around 5:30 p.m. at his home on Red Oak Drive.

Friday around 9:30 a.m., Warren County Sheriff’s deputies found Lindsey’s 1994 Ford Ranger pickup abandoned in the middle of Ring Road with the hood up. After no one returned to claim the truck, the sheriff’s office began a search later on Friday.

He is described as a black male, 5-foot-7-inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. Lindsey is a diabetic.

Saturday’s search for Lindsey is centered in a heavily wooded area near a small lake off Ring Road, which intersects U.S. Highway 61 in Warren County.

Central Mississippi Overland Search and Rescue, a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement and firefighting force, has been called to help with the search. About 40 people are involved. The team includes men and women from Warren, Hinds, Rankin and Madison counties.

Lindsey and his wife, Crystal Lindsey, were implicated in the death of Roy Calvin Brown in 2015.

Brown was found dead in front of his Court Street house on the morning of June 16, 2015. He had been shot several times according to news reports of the time.

A day later, Harold Lindsey turned himself in for the killing in Vicksburg. Crystal Lindsey turned herself in two days later in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Crystal Lindsey pleaded guilty after a jury deadlocked and a mistrial declared. She was sentenced to 20 years for manslaughter in December 2016.

To date, Harold Lindsey has not been retried for the killing and has been free on bond since the trial. Reportedly, a new trial is upcoming.
