Vicksburg may soon be growing by 50 to 100 homes of new construction in two developments, one on South Street and one on Washington Street.

“Great news from the housing department. As we demolish homes we also have to put them up,” Mayor Flaggs said.

At least two developers are working these efforts.

“We are still in the process. We have two, possibly three developers. Right now we are in an aggressive mode. We’ve been working on this for a number of years,” North Ward Alderman Michael Mayfield said.

The homes would be in the $150,000 to $200,000 range.
