$50,000 starting jackpot for the Mississippi Match 5
The Mississippi Lottery Corporation (MLC) is introducing a fourth draw-style game.
The MLC announced ‘Mississippi Match 5’ will be introduced on Wednesday, April 28. It is a Mississippi-in state, draw games that will host a starting jackpot of $50,000, which may change from time-to-time depending on sales, and have 3 drawings a week; Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
“Mississippi players have been looking forward to a ‘pick-5’ style game, and we are pleased to add it to our game mix,” said MLC President Tom Shaheen. “It features a rolling jackpot; each time no one matches all five numbers, the jackpot increases and rolls to the next drawing similar to Powerball and Mega Millions.”
How it is played starts with a choice. Players can choose a number (1 – 35) or take a quick pick option. A quick pick will allow the terminal to choose the numbers for the player. Each play will cost two dollars with each extra play costing an additional dollar. There is also a multiplier feature that players can select which can multiply non-jackpot winnings by up to five times.
The results will be broadcast on Mississippi Lottery partner television stations, on their website and recent results can also be heard by calling their hotline at 601-487-1396.
Winning tickets under $600 can be redeemed at approved retailers. Winnings can also be redeemed by mail or at the MLC headquarters located in Flowood. Winnings above $600 and below $100,000 can be claimed by mail or the MLC headquarters. For any winnings of $100,000 or more, the winner must visit the headquarters to claim.
