A Forrest County woman has been charged with murder in relation to the 2018 death of her husband.

75-year-old Harriet Mooney Howe is currently incarcerated in the Forrest County Adult Detention Center on a one million dollar bond after being formally charged by Forrest County investigators with first-degree murder. Mrs. Howe is accused of killing her husband, George Howe, in April of 2018, at their marital home in the Dixie community.

FCSO investigators never closed the investigation into George Howe’s death, and their efforts to find answers, even after five years, never wavered.

Thanks to advancements in digital forensics and the continued efforts of FCSO investigators, key evidence was finally uncovered that led to the arrest of Harriet Howe for the murder of her husband.
