The Elite Restaurant on Capitol in Jackson first opened their doors just after World War ll in 1947.

The owners said, in a post on social media “This decision was made after prayerful thought and consideration. It was absolutely the hardest decision we have ever made as it touches many lives, memories and lifelong friends we have made. It is time for us to retire. Thank you all for 72 wonderful years.”

Hundreds of comments followed the post wishing the family well and thanking them for their many years of providing for the community.
