Warren Central High School head coaches Josh Morgan and Terry Wong will be recognized at the Mississippi Association of Coaches Recognition Ceremony on July 9 in Flowood following championship seasons in their respective sports.

Morgan is coming off a historic football season in which he led the Vikings to a 12-2 record and the MHSAA Class 6A state championship. Warren Central secured the title in December with a victory over Hattiesburg High School, earning the program’s first state football championship in 31 years.

The championship marked Morgan’s first state title as a head coach. Following the season, he was named Class 6A Head Coach of the Year and received the VDN Coach of the Year award.

Wong also guided Warren Central to championship success as head coach of the swim team. Under his leadership, both the boys’ and girls’ teams captured state championships, extending the program’s streak to three consecutive state titles.

In addition to the team championships, multiple Warren Central swimmers won individual state titles during the season. Wong was also selected to coach in the All-Star Meet.

The Mississippi Association of Coaches Recognition Ceremony will be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton Refuge Hotel & Conference Center in Flowood. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. July 9.
