Multiple units responded to a call of an oven fire on Avenue D shortly after 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
The caller dialed 911 and reported that a fire started up every time the oven was opened.
No smoke or flames were showing from the outside when firefighters arrived. However, something had caught fire and was extinguished quickly.
The caller did the correct thing in dialing 911. Fires can often times get out of control quickly. The massive response to the area ensured the fire was put out with haste and not allowed to spread.
