A backpack giveaway is being hosted at Dream Center until 2 p.m.

A Christmas backpack giveaway is underway until 2 p.m. at the Dream Center located at 1600 Clay Street.

On Saturday, several agencies partnered together to help bring some extra Christmas cheer by hosting a Christmas backpack giveaway for children ages 2 to 17.

Donations of household items, such as paper towels or toiletry items, are accepted in exchange for a backpack.

Backpacks will be given away until 2 p.m. Saturday. Monetary donations are encouraged.

Betty James, Director of Mountain of Faith Ministries, says monetary donations will help aid the shelter which helps abused and homeless women and children.
