A big seventh inning helps VHS grab a win over Murrah.

Vicksburg High School baseball team grabbed a 14-9 win on Saturday night over the Murrah Mustangs.

The Mustangs led VHS 7-5 at the beginning of the fourth inning. An eight run rally in the seventh inning would clench the win for Vicksburg .

Rashad McCroy went 4 for 5 at the plate with two RBIs.

The Gators had a total of 15 hits: McCroy’s four, Connor Harrigill and freshman Mincer Minor IV both with three, Decedric Brown with two, Kaleb Doss, Kealon Bass, and Mickell Jones had one each. Bass’ hit was a 4 RBI Grand Slam.

On the mound for VHS, Kealon Bass struck out three batters.  Mickell Jones, Mikey Johnson, and Kaleb Doss all pitched by the end of the night.

VHS will host Jim Hill on Tuesday.
