A child has been shot at a Mississippi elementary school

A child has been shot at a Newton Elementary School on Thursday. Newton County Sheriff Joedy Pennington confirmed the incident.

The incident is not a active shooter situation but the child has been airlifted to a trauma center in Jackson where the condition of the child is unknown.
