A huge inning causes PCA to fall to Benton on Monday

A wild sixth inning put the game out of reach for Porter’s Chapel Academy softball team on Monday, with Benton Academy winning 19-9.

Benton scored 10 runs in the sixth inning which heavily contributed to the victory.

PCA started the game by taking a 7-2 lead going into the third inning, before Benton began making a comeback.

Sophie Master led things at the rubber for the Lady Eagles, throwing three strikeouts.

PCA came up with 11 total hits. Raegan Thornell went 3 for 4 with three run scores and two RBIs. Teammate Natalie Cantin went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and one score on the night.

The Lady Eagles will have a chance at a rematch Tuesday night against Benton at 6 p.m. at Sportsforce.
