Free adds, “We live in such a great community.” Spending even a small amount of time at the school will illustrate just how lucky Jasmine Free really is. “I have nine of the best students that I could have ever asked for. I came to Jacob’s Ladder at the beginning of this school year so I’ve only been with them for the last 7 months but I can’t imagine not having the opportunity to work with my students. They have enriched my life in ways that I never could have imagined. Many of my students will tell you that their favorite place to be is school. For them, coming to school, having the opportunity to learn and be with their peers makes them feel just everyone else. It’s very apparent to anyone who meets them that they are all very happy teenagers and young adults. I invite everyone to at least make one visit to Jacob’s Ladder and the young men and ladies. They love having visitors and always make everyone feel welcomed.” I encourage each and every one of you to take some time out of your day and visit one of the hidden jewels of Vicksburg. Jacob’s Ladder Learning Center is open Monday – Friday from 7:30-2:30, except on holidays and during summer break. You can find them at 1017 Harrison Street, however, they do not use the Harrison Street entrance. “First Presbyterian Church has been gracious enough to allow us the use of their parking lot. If you drive in between the Bellsouth building and First Pres, into the church parking lot and go down just a little way, you will see us on your right,” directed Free. The school phone number is 601-619-7002 or you can email Free directly at [email protected]. Before my visit was over, Jasmine handed me some photos that she wanted to share with the world. I’m proud to do so and even prouder to shine a little light on the school, staff and students of Jacob’s Ladder Learning Center. [gallery]]]]]> ]]>See a typo? Report it here.
