A Mississippi doctor has been charged with two counts of sexual battery of a vulnerable person

A doctor in Jackson has been charged with two counts of sexual battery or fondling of a vulnerable person.

Pediatric Nephrologist Dr. Mehul Dixit was arrested on Thursday by Hinds County Sheriff’s deputies for the incident that occurred in February at UMMC where he was employed.

Dixon’s bond was set at $300,000 and he was terminated by UMMC. He also cannot have any contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18.

Dixon’s medical license has also been suspended.
