St. Aloysius Flashes and Copiah Academy split victories in a doubleheader on Friday night.

After a sacrifice, the Flashes got a 10-9 win in game two.

Copiah had a 6-0 head start over the Flashes until Barrett Shows singled in the third inning, where Nathaniel Moore and Adam Francisco ran in for scores.

After a walk and error, Copiah was able to push their lead to 8-2.

Copiah’s lead was narrowed to 8-6 by the fourth inning. A big play by Conner Gaul when he tripled helped get things rolling for the Flashes. Carson Smith would also single that brought in a score.

The sixth inning is when things would turn for St. Aloysius due to multiple big hits.

Carter Magee and Gaul doubled in the sixth, which helped tie at nine.

Magee’s sacrifice in the final inning brought home the win for the Flashes.

John David Liggett, Smith, and Gaul all went 2 for four at the plate, while Francisco, Cole Autrey, Shows, Nathaniel Moore, and

Matthew Pitre got one hit. Gaul, Magee, and Shows each had two RBIs.

Moore and Pitre threw three strikeouts in the win, and Francisco threw two.

The Flashes took a 7-5 loss to Copiah in game one.

Gaul and Autrey got two hits in the loss, while Magee and Shows got a hit.
