Accident on I-20 West at Bovina
Dan is a trucker from Georgia who was traveling west on Interstate 20 near Vicksburg this morning. He was “…in the right lane at the Bovina exit doing 67 (mph). There was a little red compact in the left lane. It had me blocked in the right lane,” he said.
At the same time a white Impala entered the interstate at Bovina, also heading west. “I figured she’d slow down and get in behind me, but she didn’t,” Dan said. “She went right into the side of my trailer” causing damage to a tire and the frame on the trailer.
Dan is fine, and his dog, Buddy, is fine.
The driver of the Impala complained of injuries. Paramedics who responded to the scene transported her to Merit Health in Vicksburg for evaluation.
Traffic is flowing freely, now, but it was slowed down for some time because of emergency vehicles.
Dan said he was preparing slow down for the weigh station about a half mile further down the road. He said the woman hit his trailer, and then went to the right and hit the guard rails.
Her name had not been released.
