Accident on Mission 66 snarling traffic

A two-vehicle wreck that occurred around 10:30 a.m. Friday is obstructing traffic on Mission 66 near the Chamber of Commerce.

According to Vicksburg Fire Chief Craig Danczyk, one person is being transported to Merit Health River Region for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown, but appear to be mild to moderate.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution and avoid the area if possible as officials work to clear the roadway. Expect delays in the area until about 11:30 a.m. Friday.
