Active evacuation underway near John’s Grocery

A natural gas leak from a 3/4 inch gas line has caused an evacuation of the area near John’s Grocery at Highway 80 and Mt. Alban road.

Units with the Culkin fire department arrived in the area after a call to 911 reported a strong smell of gas in the area. The service line, reportedly city gas, is actively leaking gas at the time of this report.

The area near the leak is being evacuated and the road near the area is closed.
