Alcorn State University got to celebrate homecoming with a 24-20 victory over Grambling State University.

The Braves running back Niko Duffey took care of business on the ground by rushing for 138 yards while quarterback Felix Harper Jr. threw for two touchdowns with 153 passing yards and another score on the ground. Both of Harper’s touchdown passes went to LeCharles Pringle who had 67 yards on the night.

With Alcorn’s ability to move the football down the field, along with playing tough defense, the Braves took a 21-6 halftime lead.

ASU would only score once in the second half from a 23-yard field goal by Noah Kiani. The Tigers found their way into the end zone in both the third and fourth quarter to only trail by four points but it wasn’t enough to keep the Braves from taking home the win.

Alcorn now has a 3-2 record on the year and will face Mississippi Valley State University in an away game next Saturday.
