Alcorn State defeats Prairie View

Alcorn State University (14-14) took down Prairie View last night in a close ball game that resulted in an 80-71 victory.

In the first five minutes of the game, the Braves had an 18-4 lead. By the time the half came to an end, Prairie View was trailing by eight.

Alcorn’s Maurice Howard scored a game high of 22 points to help lead the Braves to the win, and Troymain Crosby put up 19 points on the night.

Devonte Patterson dropped 33 points for Prairie View (18-12) but his impressive performance couldn’t bring in a victory for the Panthers.

The win for Alcorn snapped an eight-game winning streak for Prairie View.
