Alcorn’s Noah Johnson transferring to the University of South Florida
Alcorn State University 2018 SWAC Player of the Year Noah Johnson will transfer to the University of South Florida to further his football career.
After suffering a season-ending injury in 2019, Johnson received a hardship waiver so that he is eligible for a sixth year in football. He will be leaving Alcorn as a graduate transfer which automatically makes him eligible to play in the 2020 season instead of having to sit out for a year.
Johnson threw for 2,207 yards and 15 touchdowns in the 2018 season. He also rushed for 1,080 yards and 11 touchdowns that year while playing for ASU head coach Fred McNair.
The Braves went 9-4 in 2018 while Johnson was the quarterback, and he helped them win the SWAC Championship over Southern University with a 37-28 victory.
Johnson’s quarterback coach at Alcorn was Pat White, who recently took a job at USF, so Johnson will be back with his old coach as he competes for a starting spot.
