Alcorn’s softball team defeated Southern twice over the weekend

In a three-game series, Alcorn State University’s softball team grabbed two wins over Southern University.

In game two, the Lady Braves captured a 7-6 win against the Jaguars. Kristian Edwards and Tyesha Cole both went 2 – 4 at the plate. Kiri Parker also had two hits.

Amari Ramsey got a home run on the day, including four RBIs. Chloey Morgan, Genise Wells, and Amari Ramsey had one hit each.

Game three was much easier for ASU, crushing Southern 7-0.

Edwards went perfect at the plate, 3 – 3, while Morgan got two hits. Cole also came in clutch with two RBIs.

Brenn Ursin pitched in the win, striking out two and only allowing two hits.
