Alderman Monsour releases statement on the death of Margaret Gilmer

South Ward Alderman Alex Monsour recently released a statement on the death of Chairwoman of the Vicksburg-Warren Economic Development Foundation Margaret Gilmer.

The statement reads:

Mrs. Margaret, as she was known by everyone was not only a great supporter of the City of Vicksburg and Warren County, she was also a great friend!

She love Vicksburg and always promoted our city, she never quit working weather it was the city, county, EDF, the Chamber of Commerce or Rotary.

You name it, she was helping everywhere to make sure Vicksburg was successful.

The impact Margaret Gilmer had on the City of Vicksburg will not only be measured on what she did while she was here but will also be measured by generations to come.

She was instrumental in changing the way the City of Vicksburg and Warren County’s future and economic growth will happen. I have lost a very close friend and a champion of our city and state.
