Alert Sheriff’s deputies spot and capture thief

Sheriff Martin Pace reports that on the afternoon of June 6, Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a stolen Honda 3-wheeler that was taken from an outbuilding behind a residence on Highline Drive in Warren County. Deputies were able to get a photo of the red 3-wheeler.

Wednesday afternoon, around 5 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Billy Joe Heggins spotted a subject on a 3-wheeler riding in an open field near U.S. Highway 80 and MS Highway 27. Heggins stopped the vehicle and was able to positively identify the vehicle as the one stolen the prior day.

The suspect in possession of the 3-wheeler was identified as Johnny Brian Alexander, 38, of Vicksburg.  After Alexander was identified, he was charged with the burglary of an outbuilding and larceny.

He is currently being held in the Warren County Jail awaiting a hearing with a Justice Court judge.
