Alonzo Stevens presented with the John L. Hartman Award

Vicksburg-Warren School District board member Alonzo Stevens was honored by the Mississippi School Boards Association on Tuesday for his commitment to Board development, professional continuing education, and student success and was presented with the John L. Hartman Memorial Attendance Award.

Stevens was given the award due to him completing 74.25 MSBA-approved board training hours during the 2020-2021 school year.

In Stevens’ eight years sitting on the VWSD board, this is his sixth time winning the John L. Hartman Award.

Steven is a longtime educator and football coach before his retirement a decade ago, and continues to make an impact around the community today.
