92 Corps members complete AmeriCorps NCCC training in Vicksburg

92 Corps members completed AmeriCorps National Civilian Corps (NCCC) training at the Southern Region AmeriCorps Vicksburg, MS campus today Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the AmeriCorps NCCC campus located at 2715 Confederate Ave. Vicksburg, MS 39180. Members completed the ‘Corps Training Institute’ where they learned first aid/cpr, chainsaw and tool training, health and wellness, public speaking, conflict management and community building. With knowledge and skills learned, members will serve for 10-months on various community and national service projects.

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, members will leave Vicksburg and deploy to various states across the Southeast to begin their service year meeting needs of communities in:

• Environmental conservation
• Infrastructure improvements
• Urban & rural development
• Energy conservation
• Natural & other disasters (preparedness, mitigation, recovery, response)
