Andre Bennett has now taken over as the offensive coordinator for the Vicksburg High School football team.

Bennett, who previously served as the offensive line coach, was recently named as the OC after Christopher Lacey became the head coach.

Bennett joined the Gators’ organization back in 2008 and made a positive impact since being hired by his former high school coach Alonzo Stevens.

Last season, VHS went 10-3 where three running backs had over 1,000 rushing yards each while running behind Bennett’s offensive line. The Gators reached the third round of the playoffs for the first time since Bennett was a senior in high school at VHS.

Bennett is a 2002 graduate of VHS where he chose Grambling State University over big schools like LSU and Notre Dame. He would go on to win two SWAC Championships in college before playing Arena football.

Bennett is inheriting an offense that averaged over 20 points per game in 2022.

VHS will open their season against Holmes County Central in the Red Carpet Bowl on August 25.
