The Magnolia Bar Association will be holding their Annual Restoration Day expungement clinic on May 13 at the Copiah County Courthouse.  Individuals interested in filing for expungement of felony or misdemeanor charges can attend the workshop for free.

To determine if you are eligible for expungement, participants are asked to fill out and return pre-registration forms that can be picked up at the Circuit Clerk’s Office in Claiborne, Copiah and Jefferson counties.

For felonies, the following documentation is required:

  • criminal background from your local sheriff’s department
  • copy of indictment
  • copy of sentencing order
  • order of dismissal from the court where charges were filed

For misdemeanor charges, the following documentation is required:

  • criminal background from your local sheriff’s department
  • court abstract from the court where charges were filed

While the clinic is free, individuals will be responsible for paying filing fees, which are $150 for felonies and $50 for misdemeanors.
