Area casinos remain open

At least two Vicksburg casinos remain open with limited staff.

Mickey Fedell with Casino Vicksburg says their property is taking every possible precaution to ensure the safety of its guests and staff. Fedell said, “We have gravel and sand on the hills.”

He added, “We have staff that will remain on the property throughout this weather event. We are required to maintain security and surveillance and have guests in our hotel. Our staff will be limited, but we will remain open for business.”

Casino Vicksburg also announced that their Gift of the Month Giveaway is being postponed until next Sunday, Feb. 21, where guests will receive both gifts originally planned for Feb. 14 and next week.

Also, their invitation  only VIP Mardi Gras Dinner will be postponed until Friday, Feb. 19.

Waterview General Manager Penny Bankston said her property was making similar preparations.
