Area groceries remain fairly well stocked except for bread, water and ice

Area grocery stores remain fairly well stocked going into the first day of Hurricane Ida.

A visit to the two largest stores, Kroger and Walmart, revealed most items were in stock except for water. Kroger still had a healthy selection of deli bread but the regular white and wheat bread was depleted. Both Kroger and Walmart had plenty of milk.
