A manhunt on Tuesday resulted in an arrest after an extensive search by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Warren County Deputy Thomas McBride stopped a vehicle on Culkin Road when the passenger jumped out and fled. The driver was arrested on misdemeanor warrants, prompting additional units to search the woods.

Public tips led to the suspect’s arrest on East Clay Street around 9:30 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office discovered that the suspect, 44-year-old John Joseph Barr, had outstanding warrants from West Baton Rouge Parish for burglary and receiving stolen property. Additionally, he was wanted in Wilkinson County for grand larceny.

Barr is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Wednesday.
