An arrest warrant has been issued for Vicki White, the assistant director of corrections at Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office. Vicki White is accused of helping an inmate Casey White (no relation) escape an Alabama jail. Casey White was awaiting trial for murder.

Vicki White reportedly told guards she was taking inmate Casey White to the county courthouse for a mental evaluation at around 9:30 a.m. on Friday. She mentioned that she was not feeling well and expressed intentions to seek medical care after dropping the prisoner off.

According to Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton, Casey White was not scheduled for a mental evaluation and was never delivered to the courthouse. Likewise, Vicki White did not make it to the clinic where she had told coworkers she planned to seek care. Her patrol car was later found in a shopping center parking lot.

On Monday, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton stated an arrest warrant was issued for Vicky White. Singleton stated he is aware Vicki White participated in the escape. It is unknown if she assisted willingly or under duress.

The two are currently at large and both are considered armed and dangerous, according to U.S. Marshal Marty Keely. Keely stated Casey White stands taller than most, at 6 foot 9 inches, and should be easy to spot even if he attempts to change his appearance.

The U.S. Marshals Service have offered up to a $10,000 reward for information on this case.
