UPDATE: The suspect is in custody at mile marker 158 near Meridian, Mississippi. Our local law enforcement was notified after he had passed through our area.

Original story: A regional manhunt is underway Wednesday for Taniel Cole, a 41-year-old black male.

Cole is 5-feet-4-inches tall, with a slender build at around 125 lbs. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a muscle-type shirt and a jacket.

He is wanted for attempted second degree murder, kidnapping and battery. Cole shot at least one person at Oschner LSU Hospital in Shreveport, Lousiana, Wednesday morning. He then abducted a woman and forced her to withdraw cash from an ATM machine. She has since been released.

Cole is suspected of stealing a dark colored 2016 Nissan Altima with a paper tag from a car lot in the Monroe, Louisiana, area around 11 a.m.

If you see Cole, dial 911 immediately.  He is armed and dangerous.
