ATTENTION ALL CANDIDATES!!!

Coffee with…; so great a job, that many think that she’s the permanent host.  The job of host / hostess, is open to just about anyone, but that’s another article altogether.  Anyway… Robyn called me on Sunday and asked me if I thought the idea she concocted was feasible.  I told her that she was a genius. The idea is simple. First, we pick a date and confirm with Daniel & Lesley that the coffee shop is available. Second, we announce the date to the candidates and invite them ALL to head over to the coffee shop on the date we picked out. Third, we (me and Robyn) head over to the Highway 61 Coffee House on that particular evening and wait on candidates to show up.  If and when they do, we park them in a chair and ask them a short series of questions to let the viewer know a little about them. One of the questions that all of you should be prepared to answer is: “Why should people vote for you?” Bring your “A” game.  We won’t be editing any of the answers.  We want this to be as raw and real as possible. Our promise to you is that we will be completely fair and unbiased.  Everybody, regardless of party affiliation or lack thereof, will be treated EXACTLY the same.  There will be no surprise questions, nor “gotcha” tactics… It’s gonna be a straightforward, short interview designed to let people know who you are and where you stand on the issues that matter. All you have to do is show up at the Highway 61 Coffee House on October 11, 2011 between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.  If you cannot make it on that day, please send an e-mail to info@vicksburgdailynews.com to let us know when would be a good time for us to get five minutes with you.  There will be a sign-in sheet when you walk in and I will be the one to ensure that the interviews are conducted on a first-come, first on camera basis.  Any deviation from the list will have to be approved by all candidates remaining on the list.
