Attorney and wife arrested on drug charges

Jackson, MS (WLBT)  – A local attorney and his wife are in jail on drug charges. On Tuesday, Brandon Police arrested Jeffrey Knight.  Police went to the attorney’s Brandon home to serve a warrant on violation of a city ordinance.  They detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the house.   And once inside, officers found four ounces of hydroponic marijuana..  That is high-grade substance that sells for $400 dollars an ounce.  Police say Knight admitted to selling marijuana.  He and his wife, Darcy Knight are charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and a gun possession charge. Both appeared in court Wednesday.  Their bond is set at $75,000 dollars each and the cases have been bound over to a grand jury.
