Chesley_sadler@yahoo.com Now in its third year, the Vicksburg Performing Arts Company is committed to the art of dance. By working hard to introduce and instill discipline, self-expression and passion into each company member, they also work towards becoming great dancers while understanding that learning to be a good person is the true mission. The Company™s goal is to allow each dancer to learn and experience the elements of dance: artistry, confidence, coordination, creativity, grace, musicality, self-esteem, technique and appreciation for music and dance. Dancers are able to hone their craft through experience by performing locally and attending regional and national competitions and conventions throughout the year. All Company members are selected through annual auditions, range in age from 7 to 18 and are divided into Apprentice, Junior and Senior companies. This year, the VPAC workshop will have Junior and Senior levels taught by three world-class teachers rotating between classes. The workshop, in conjunction with N House Productions, will include: 3 days of intense dance technique, a dance seminar, a parent showcase, scholarship auditions to study dance in New York and Los Angeles and the 2011 VPAC Company auditions. Attendance will be mandatory for all students auditioning for VPAC. Faculty for the convention will include Casey Noblett from Atlanta, McCree O™Kelley of Columbia, SC and Carson Capps from Wilmington, NC. Noblettâ’s dance credits include performances at the White House, Madison Square Garden and on MTV, CBS and Fox. O™Kelley has performed at Tokyo Disney, was a company member with the Atlanta Ballet, and starred in the North American tour of CATS. Capps performed in WICKED on Broadway and has appeared on One Life to Live and The Today Show on NBC. It promises to be an exciting weekend! Chesley Sadler Lambiotte (VPAC Artistic Director) received a BA in Dance Education from the University of Georgia while performing as a soloist with the pre-professional UGA Ballet Ensemble. She worked as a performer and choreographer with the Boiler Room Theatre, and Bikram yoga instructor in Nashville, TN. She now lives in Vicksburg with her husband and their three children. Since moving back to Vicksburg, she has worked as a dance instructor for Vicksburg Dance Studio, co-directed the Mississippi Summer Dance Intensive, worked as the Assistant Choreographer of the Miss Mississippi Pageant and Choreographer/Director of the Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen Pageant and has founded the Vicksburg Performing Arts Company for which she currently serves as the VPAC Artistic Director and Choreographer.
