Authorities searching for driver that fled traffic stop

Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect that fled on foot after being pulled over on Highway 61 North on Saturday.

At around 7:30 p.m., a trooper initiated a traffic stop with a red Ford sedan on Highway 61 North.  The driver of the sedan pulled over near Blakely Drive, exited the vehicle and ran into the woods.

Officers with both MHP and WCSO are searching the area for the individual.  It is unclear at this time why the vehicle was stopped or why the driver fled the scene.
