Auto burglary and auto theft reported on Christmas Eve

The Vicksburg Police Department reports one auto burglary and one auto theft occurred on Christmas Eve.

On Thursday, Dec. 24, at 11:53 a.m., officers responded to an address in the 2900 block of East Main Street. The victim reported that someone stole his Smith and Wesson 9-mm pistol from his vehicle some time during the night. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

Walmart was the site of an auto theft Thursday. At 12:14 p.m. officers responded to the store at 2150 Iowa Blvd. where the victim stated that her red 2013 Chevy Tahoe was stolen while she was inside shopping.
