UPDATE 11:40 a.m.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace has indicated that the two shootings at the complex may be related.

“There’s every reason to believe the shootings are connected,” Pace told the Vicksburg Daily News today. “We’ve had a team of investigators working on both these shootings. They’ve been out just about the whole night last night. We are following some very promising leads, but we don’t have enough information to make an arrest at this time.”

Pace said his department is also working with Vicksburg Police investigators.

“I feel confident that we’re going to get to the bottom of this,” he said.

Original story:

A teenager has died from gunshot wounds he received at the Azalea Trace apartment complex Tuesday night.

Kameron Logan, 19, was shot around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene shortly thereafter, and found Logan lying outside of an apartment there. He was transported to Merit Health River Region.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said Logan was shot in abdominal area. He was in surgery when he died at 11:05 p.m. last night. An autopsy will be performed on his body.

The case is now a homicide.

This is the second shooting incident at the Azalea Trace Apartments in three days. The complex is located just outside the Vicksburg city limits in Warren County. A shooting Saturday put a 17-year-old in the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. His condition is unknown.

It is also unknown whether the cases are connected. At this time, no suspects for either shooting are in custody.
