Meeting scheduled Aug. 24 to discuss backwater pumps
A meeting is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, Aug. 24 in reference to the backwater pump issue.
Ty Pinkins, a graduate of the Georgetown University school of law and Delta farmer activist, announced the meeting is to be held at the South Delta High School auditorium to speak on the backwater pump issue. Food will be served.
Pinkins states that Congressman Bennie Thompson will be in attendance, along with Senator Roger Wicker, Charles Taylor, Executive Director of the MS NAACP and several agencies from Washington D.C. and the meeting will be important for residents of Sharkey and Issaquena Counties.
In his announcement, Pinkins states there will be those present that will be arguing against the funds and resources that are being committed.
