Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Miss.

The suspect in this morning’s double homicide at Baptist Hospital in Jackson has apparently taken his own life.

Around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, two employees of the hospital were gunned down. The victim’s names, a man and a woman, have not been released.

Witnesses say the shooter was arguing with the woman when he shot her and then a security guard who tried to intervene.

“It does appear to be domestic-related,” Jackson Police Chief James Davis told reporters.

Shortly after the shooting, Pearl and Jackson police were called to a cemetery in Pearl where the suspect was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot on his brother’s grave, WAPT reports. His name has also not been released.

Jackson police believe the man had taken the car of his female victim.

“You’ve got three individuals who have lost their lives over a conflict, and it’s a very sad moment for the families,” Davis said.
